CINCINNATI, Ohio – Less than 24 hours after seeing MSJ rally for five runs in the ninth to win the series opener on Friday, Defiance closed the weekend set by overcoming a five-run, ninth-inning deficit en route to an 8-7 win. DC dropped Saturday’s first game, 11-1, but doubled its 2009 win total with the 14th win of the year in the nightcap.

FRANKLIN, Ind. - The Yellow Jackets could not slow a powerful Franklin College lineup on Friday, as the Grizzlies piled up 30 runs in the doubleheader to secure two victories over Defiance College. Franklin exploded for 16 runs in the opener to win 16-4, before rallying for a 14-9 win in the nightcap.
PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. – Defiance College continued its winning ways early in the 2010 season, as freshman Jacob Taylor tossed a complete game gem on the mound and the bats pounded out nine runs to secure the Jackets’ fourth-straight victory with a 9-2 triumph over Kenyon on Wednesday morning.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Defiance College fell in an early 5-0 hole and could not recover, as the Jackets fell, 7-3, to Grace College in Nashville, Tennessee to open the 2010 campaign. DC will continue its trek south to compete in the Port Charlotte Invitational starting Monday in Port Charlotte, Florida.
