
GREENWOOD, Ind. – For the first time ever, the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference has announced an All-Sportsmanship Team for the fall of 2009. The award was developed as part of a conference-wide sportsmanship initiative.
TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Defiance College’s women’s cross country team competed in the NCAA Div. III Great Lakes Regional Championships on Saturday, November 14. The Yellow Jackets garnered 827 points in the meet and placed 28th overall in what was the team’s final competition of the season.
CINCINNATI, Ohio – The women’s cross country team finished sixth in the team standings at the HCAC Cross Country Championships on Saturday, posting a score of 155. Manchester won their first ever team title with 38 points, edging out defending champions Franklin by six points.
OBERLIN, Ohio – The women’s cross country team competed in the Oberlin Invitational on Saturday, October 17. The lady harriers finished 24th overall, garnering 707 points in the meet. John Hopkins University took the team title with 62 points.
DELAWARE, Ohio – The DC women’s cross country team competed in the All-Ohio Championships on Friday, finishing 18th among Div. III schools and 37th overall. Case Western Reserve took the Div. III team title with 70 points, edging out Oberlin College for the top spot.
BLUFFTON, Ohio – The DC women’s cross country team scored 26 points on their way to a first place finish at the Bluffton Invitational on Friday. The Jackets edged out HCAC opponent Bluffton University, who finished in second place with 29 total points.
CEDARVILLE, Ohio – The Yellow Jackets women’s cross country team finished 14th in the Friendship Invitational on Saturday, September 19.
DEFIANCE, Ohio – The women’s cross country team finished third at the DC Invitational on Saturday, September 12. Goshen College took the team title with 29 points, edging out second place Huntington University.

NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. – The Yellow Jackets cross country teams began the season on Tuesday, September 1, at the Manchester College Hokum Karem Invitational. The women’s team placed third among four teams while the men’s team finished fourth overall.

DEFIANCE, Ohio – The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference recently released its first ever preseason cross country poll. The Yellow Jackets placed three runners on the HCAC Preseason Runners-to-Watch List and were picked to finish sixth in the HCAC.
