The Defiance volleyball team fell in their home opener against non-conference foe Wilmington on Saturday afternoon, 3-1.

- Defiance fell in a hard fought first set, 20-25.
- After falling in the first set, the Yellow Jackets rallied back in the second set 25-20 to tie the match 1-1.
- Wilmington regained the momentum and went on to win the next two sets to take the win, 3-1.
- Senior Mackenzie Benham and freshman Jamia Murray both led Defiance with 12 kills each. Benham also notched 15 digs.
