Women's soccer loses Senior Day match to Franklin
The Yellow Jacket Women's Soccer team was defeated on Senior Day, 3-0, by visiting Franklin.
The Basics:
- Records: Defiance (3-13, 0-8), Franklin (3-11-1, 1-6-1)
- Location: Defiance, Ohio
- Attendance: 148
- Defiance seniors Abbe Rank and Brianna Snider were honored during pregame for Senior Day.
Inside the Numbers:
- Franklin played with the ball at their toes for most of the game. The Grizzlies outshot the Jackets, 29-1, and had nine corners compared to a pair for Defiance.
- Sarah O'Shea stopped nine Franklin shots while in goal for Defiance. After allowing two goals, she was lifted for Makenzie Trosen for the final 11 minutes of the contest.
- Franklin's Elaina Page squared up six of her eight total shot attempts on the goal. With one of the three goals in the game, Page leads Franklin in scoring with three goals in 2022.
- Defiance's lone shot attempt was from Hallie Webb in the second half.
The Difference:
- The Jackets and Grizzlies played to a scoreless tie through the half. Franklin's Elaina Page broke the stalemate open with a goal in the 55th minute.
- With Defiance looking to scramble for a late equalizer, Franklin found the back of the net twice within a four-minute period. Lilly Haines fired in the second goal during the 78th minute on a pass from Dianna Rollag followed by Maddison Claybrooke's header through the pipes during the 82nd.

- The women's soccer team concludes the season at home on Wednesday, October 26 with Mount St. Joseph making the visit to Defiance. Kickoff for the HCAC contest is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. at Winsper-Knobel Memorial Field.
