Women's Soccer Loses Final Game Of Season Against Hanover

Defiance (3-15, 2-7 HCAC) was able to produce two shots in the first half. Freshman Maizy Lepkowski (Perrysburg) took a shot on goal that landed in the hands of the Hanover (13-5, 8-1 HCAC) goalkeeper at the 13:51 minute mark. The game remained scoreless until late in the period when Hanover scored their first goal of the day during the 33rd minute to lead 1-0. Four minutes later, the Panthers struck again with their second goal of the half at the 36:34 mark and increased the margin to 2-0. DC recorded their second scoring opportunity of the half with approximately one minute remaining when Lepkowski took a second shot, but the shot fell wide as Hanover maintained its two-goal advantage heading into halftime.
The second half started out quick for the Jacket offense when sophomore Katie McGlacken (Canton, Mich./Canton) took a shot that was saved by the Panthers. Shortly after, Hanover added to its lead when it found the back of the net for a third time at the 53:00 mark, making the score 3-0. Senior Jillian Crowell (Kalamazoo, Mich./Plainwell) took a shot following the Panther goal, but missed high on the attempt, keeping the score 3-0. Hanover went on to add two more goals during the 62nd and 75th minutes to pad the lead to 5-0. Senior Erica Islas (Lockhart, Texas/Lockhart) recorded the final shot shot attempt for DC, but it was blocked by the defense, as the Panthers went on to post the 5-0 victory.
Senior June Delgreco (Dearborn, Mich./Crestwood) started and played all 90 minutes for the Yellow Jackets. While in net, Delgreco made 15 saves.
