Boroff notches record-setting victory at Yellow Jacket Invitational
WAUSEON, Ohio - Defiance College senior golfer Winter Boroff bagged her second career win at the Yellow Jacket Invitational by finishing with a 36-hole total 154 at Ironwood Golf Club on Monday.
The Lincolnview grad's twin rounds of 77 were each the second-lowest 18-hole round in program history while her 154 set a new 36-hole tournament record for DC's women's golf program. Boroff held the tournament record of 160, compiled in September 2023 at Manchester. Boroff's last tournament win came at last season's Yellow Jacket Spring Invite at Moose Landing. The senior carried an even-par scorecard through the front nine but found birdies on both ends of the course.
As a team, the Jackets claimed second place out of the three-team field behind Tiffin. The Dragons claimed the other four spots in the top-5.
Emily Momany posted a 111 on the second day and finished at 217 for ninth place. Braylin Shaner followed a career-low on Sunday with 115 on Monday and finished 10th at 219, her lowest 36-hole total. Hailey Becker posted an 11th-place finish with a 221 after taking three strokes off her round from Sunday with a 109 on Monday.
The Yellow Jackets return to action for the WHAC Championships, which begin next Monday and run through Wednesday at North Stonehedge Country Club in Augusta, Mich.
