Yellow Jackets compete at Oak Pointe
BRIGHTON, Mich. - Defiance College women's golf played in their second-to-last tournament of the fall slate by taking a trip to the Cleary Cougar Invite on Monday and scored a 415 round as a team, finishing seventh among nine teams.
Senior Isabelle Vance compiled the team's best performance with an 88, which landed her tied for seventh in her second top-10 finish of the season. Vance carried an even 44 on the front and back nine.
Winter Boroff submitted a 98 and finished 22nd. Emily Momany (109), Braylin Shaner (120), and Hailey Becker (121) all shot over 100 on the tricky course to round out the field for DC.
Host Cleary picked up the team title, shooting a 349 as a unit and finishing eight strokes better than second place Spring Arbor. The Cougars' Jana Lesperance earned medalist honors with a round of 82 to defeat three other golfers in second place with an 84.
DC wraps up the fall season with a trip to the Kalamazoo Hornet Fall Invitational on Oct. 21, which will be held at Kalamazoo Country Club.
