DC Powerlifting signs first commit for inaugural 2025-26 season
DEFIANCE, Ohio - The Defiance College Powerlifting team announced the program's first signee as Rayne Cook signed her letter of intent to join the program for the 2025-26 season.
Cook will join Defiance out of Dexter High School (Dexter, Mich.) after a strong career in state competitions in Michigan. During her senior year, Cook finished third in the Michigan High School Powerlifting championships and was the JV state champion as a sophomore in 2023. Cook's personal best lifts include a 315-lb squat, 195 bench press and 350-lb deadlift.
"Rayne is a talented young athlete with a great work ethic and tons of potential," said DC powerlifting coach Levi Hoffman. "As a competitor, her focus leads to near perfect performances. We are looking forward to what her powerlifting future hold."
The Yellow Jackets' powerlifting program begins competition as a co-ed club sport beginning next school year.
