
Cross Country Gears Up to Host DC Duals
DEFIANCE, Ohio – The Defiance College men’s and women’s cross country teams prepare to host their first event of the season on Saturday, the Defiance College Duals. Coming to the event are teams from Olivet, Bluffton and Owens Community College.
DEFIANCE, Ohio – The Defiance College men's and women's cross country teams prepare to host their first event of the season on Saturday, the Defiance College Duals. Coming to the event are teams from Olivet, Bluffton and Owens Community College.
The men's team was paced in their first event by sophomore Joe Davis and sophomore Madison Murphy. The duo combined to finish in fourth place overall at the Manchester Hokum Karem.
On the women's side, the Yellow Jackets are led by senior Ellen Stryffeler and junior Erika DeBos. The pair teamed up to finish over a minute in front of the second place team, as they won first place at Manchester. Stryffeler was honored by the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference with Runner-of-the-Week accolades for her performance.
The event will start at 10:00 am for the men and 10:50 for the women on Saturday. The men will run an 8k course, while the women's teams will compete on a 5k course.
