DC Men Earn Third-Place Finish at Defiance Invitational
DEFIANCE, Ohio – The Defiance College men’s cross country team overcame sloppy course conditions to score 58 points on its way to a third-place finish at the Defiance Invitational on Saturday, September 13. Goshen College finished with 22 points in the meet to claim the men’s team title.
DEFIANCE, Ohio – The Defiance College men's cross country team overcame sloppy course conditions to score 58 points on its way to a third-place finish at the Defiance Invitational on Saturday, September 13. Goshen College finished with 22 points in the meet to claim the men's team title.
Goshen's Sammy Chege won the men's race, after crossing the line in 28:12. Freshman Justin Perkins led DC for the second meet in a row, finishing third with a time of 29:53. Seth Bidlack (32:10) was the only other Jacket harrier to crack the top ten, finishing 10th. Matt Rohlf (32:53) and Troy Secrest (33:14) were the next two Defiance runners to finish, crossing the line in 13th and 15th place respectively. Aaron Fraley rounded out the top five for DC, using a strong finish to cross the line in 33:35 to earn 17th place.
The Jackets return to action on Saturday, September 20, when they participate in the Cedarville Invitational.
