
Barnes and Woods post program top-10 times at WHAC Championships
ADRIAN, Mich. - The Defiance College men's track team ended the WHAC Championships on a high note with a pair of notable performances and numerous PRs at O'Laughlin Stadium at Siena Heights on Thursday and Friday.
Zyon Woods finished the 110-meter hurdles in 10th place with a time of 14.88, marking the third-fastest time in program history. JVontae Barnes also registered a top-10 with the eighth-fastest 400 meter race at 49.84, which was an NAIA B Standard time with an eight-place finish.
In addition to their standout performances, Tyjon Mance also PR'd in the 400 meters in 50.64. The 4x400 relay team clocked their best race of the year at 3:26.74, placing seventh. Additionally, Cole Armstrong registered the lone field event results with a personal best 11.38 meter throw, placing 20th.
Indiana Tech won their 12th straight WHAC title as a team. Jake Stephens was honored as part of the WHAC's Champion of Character Team.
