GREENWOOD, Ind. – Defiance College's Brad Kremer hit for the cycle and posted a 1.731 OPS over four games to fuel the Yellow Jacket attack, and has been selected as the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference's Hitter of the Week.
Kremer accomplished the cycle on Sunday, collecting a home run, triple, double and single in succession over his final four trips to the plate. The St. Henry, Ohio native also picked up a double and two key RBI in DC's 5-4 win at Albion on Tuesday.
The sophomore third baseman ended the week with a .571 batting average, to go with a .588 on-base clip and a 1.143 slugging percentage. Kremer laced five extra-base hits to bolster those numbers, including three doubles, one triple and one home run.
Kremer has now stroked four triples through DC's first 19 games of the season to move to within one of tying the all-time single-season mark at Defiance. Kremer's seven career three-baggers are good for fourth all-time in program history.
Kremer and the Jackets will host Bluffton on Tuesday at 4:00 pm, before playing at Bowling Green on Wednesday at 3:00 pm.
