Kirk Jesse was in the midst of a record-setting day at the plate, setting a new single-season record for at bats and tying the DC's single-season record for stolen bases after swiping three on Friday to move to 27 on the season. Jesse also scored twice to surpass B.J. Moss (1994-1997) on the all-time charts with 107 runs scored in his career.
Jesse will join Tim Pitro, Matt Chidester, Casey Kahsen, Pat McKee and Keith Wade in being honored prior to the start of Saturday's action, as DC recognizes its six-man senior class.
