Yellow Jackets End Season with Tough Loss

FRANKLIN, Ind. – Defiance College ended its season with a loss at Franklin (Ind.) College by a score of 61-54 in Franklin, Ind. With the loss to Franklin (14-10, 12-6 HCAC), the Yellow Jackets (9-16, 8-10 HCAC) were officially put out of contention for a berth into the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament.

Roth, Tietje, and Spinks Named HCAC Players of the Week

GREENWOOD, IND. -- Three Defiance College winter athletes were named this week's Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Players of the Week. Senior guard Mason Roth (McComb) was the men's basketball player of the week, sophomore forward Kelsey Tietje (Deshler/Patrick Henry) was the women's player of the week and freshman Darius Spinks (Washington, Pa./Washington) was the men's track & field runner of the week.

Tietje Scores Career-High in Win at MSJ

CINCINNATI, OHIO -- Sophomore forward Kelsey Tietje (Deshler/Patrick Henry) scored over half of the team's total points for the game with a career-high 37 points, including 19 points from the free-throw line, in addition to grabbing 17 rebounds as the Defiance College women's basketball team claimed a 65-61 win against Mount St. Joseph University in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference play in Cincinnati.
