Three Yellow Jackets Honored by HCAC

Kelsey Tietje (Deshler/Patrick Henry) earned first-team All-HCAC for the second straight year. She ranked inside the Top-10 in 10 different categories. She was first in rebounds per game (12.8), total rebounds (320), defensive rebounds (240), and free-throws made (176), second in points per game (19.4), blocks (54), and offensive rebounds (80), third in field goals made (155), fifth in field goal percentage (49.1%), and ninth in free-throw percentage (79.3%). Tietje secured a double-double in 20 games this season and scored in double figures in all but one game on the year.
Megan Zachrich (Napoleon) was placed on the honorable mention All-HCAC Team for her efforts this season. She placed inside the Top-20 in several key statistical categories in the HCAC. She ranked fourth in free-throw percentage (82.7%), eight in total blocks (18), 14th in both field goals made (99) and total steals (34), 15th in points per game (11.3), 17th in free-throws made (62), and 18th in total assists (52). Zachrich got into double figures in 17 games this season, scoring a career-high 26 points against Transylvania (Ky.) University on December 13.
Erica Smay (Defiance/Tinora) was placed on the HCAC All-Sportsmanship Team for the season she had. Smay averaged 7.8 ppg. during her sophomore campaign. She did a lot of her damage from downtown, hitting 38 three-pointers on the season which was the 11th most in the HCAC this season. Smay was also 22nd in steals this season in the conference with 28. She hit multiple shots from the arc in 13 games this season.
