Men's Basketball falls to D1 Wright State in exhibition

The Defiance College Men's Basketball team traveled to Fairborn, Ohio, to play an exhibition game against the Wright State Raiders. The Yellow Jackets fell 99-56.

Inside The Numbers

• Senior Te Jones led the Yellow Jackets in scoring, totaling 9 points. 

• Senior Dejsani Beamon grabbed 3 rebounds for the Yellow Jackets, leading the team in boards. 

• As a team, the Yellow Jackets went 20-58, shooting 34.5% overall. 

• The Yellow Jackets shot 14-37 from the 3pt line, shooting 37.8% overall.

• Defiance also shot 100%, going 2-2 in Free Throws. 

• Amari Davis chipped in 17 points for the Raiders. 

• Tim Finke added 13 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists in the Raiders' win. 

• Overall, Wright State outshot Defiance shooting 40-54 (74.1%) Field Goal Shots.

The Difference

• In the first half, the Yellow Jackets maintained pace with the Raiders, coming within 10 points before the Raiders took momentum to go on a 16-point run at the end of the first half. 

• In the second half, Defiance's defense struggled, getting outscored 50-23. 

• The Raiders outscored the Yellow Jacket 66-10 in the Paint.

• Wright State scored 33 points off of Defiance turnovers, 19 of those 33 being fast break points.
