GREENWOOD, Ind. – The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference recently unveiled its 2012 All-Conference Team for baseball, with Defiance placing four student-athletes on the list.

CINCINNATI – Defiance College wrapped up its 2012 baseball season on a positive note, handling Mount St. Joseph by a 5-4 margin to complete a series sweep of the Lions.

CINCINNATI – Defiance College earned its first doubleheader sweep of the season against a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference foe by scoring 23 runs in a pair of victories at Mount St. Joseph on Friday evening.

DEFIANCE, Ohio – Defiance College took its home field for the final time of the 2012 campaign, hosting Heidelberg University on Tuesday afternoon in a non-conference game. The Berg never trailed and held off a ninth-inning rally by the Jackets in the 8-5 contest.

HANOVER, Ind. – Defiance outlasted Hanover in Sunday’s series finale, using a five-run outburst in the top of the 12th inning to secure a 12-7 victory in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference contest.

N. MANCHESTER, Ind. – Defiance College opened Tuesday’s game at Manchester with five-straight hits and eventually built a 7-0 lead, en route to holding off the Spartans in a dramatic, 10-9, victory.

DEFIANCE, Ohio – DC’s Jake Taylor allowed just one earned run in eight efficient innings and Andy Habecker delivered a pair of run-scoring singles on Sunday, as the Yellow Jackets handled Anderson by a 4-2 margin in the series finale at Craig A. Rutter Field.

DEFIANCE, Ohio – Defiance managed only two runs over 16 innings of Saturday’s doubleheader against Anderson and suffered 2-0 and 8-2 losses against the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference-leading Ravens on Senior Day at Rutter Field.

BLUFFTON, Ohio – Darin Waterman laced a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to give Defiance a 5-4 lead at Bluffton on Tuesday and the Jackets held on for the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference victory on the diamond over the Beavers.

RICHMOND, Ind. – Defiance opened a weekend set at Earlham by jumping one of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference’s top-rated pitching staffs for eight runs in the first two innings but could not hold on, as the Quakers stormed back for the 12-9 win on Friday.

GREENWOOD, Ind. – Darin Waterman shut down the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference’s highest scoring offense and helped Defiance score a 2-1 win at Franklin to earn the HCAC’s Pitcher-of-the-Week honor.

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Defiance College could not dent the scoreboard until the bottom of the eighth inning and suffered a 9-3 loss to Manchester College at Parkview Field in Fort Wayne, Indiana on Monday evening.

FRANKLIN, Ind. – Defiance picked up its first conference victory of the season on Friday, scoring an extra-inning win over Franklin with a 2-1 victory in eight innings. The Jackets then fell, 10-2, in the second contest to split the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference doubleheader.
