- Wilmington and Defiance battled back-and-forth in the first set and saw the Quakers take the first set in exciting fashion, 26-24.
- With the score tied 13-13 in the second set, Wilmington went on a 12-5 run to take the set 25-18.
- The Yellow Jackets tried mounting a comeback in the third set but fell short in the end losing 25-22.
- Senior Mackenzie Benham led Defiance with 13 kills and added 15 digs.
