Volleyball stumbles on the road against Wilmington

The Defiance volleyball team stumbled on the road against Wilmington on Monday night, 3-0.

• Wilmington and Defiance battled back-and-forth in the first set and saw the Quakers take the first set in exciting fashion, 26-24.
• With the score tied 13-13 in the second set, Wilmington went on a 12-5 run to take the set 25-18.
• The Yellow Jackets tried mounting a comeback in the third set but fell short in the end losing 25-22.
• Senior Mackenzie Benham led Defiance with 13 kills and added 15 digs.
• Sophomore Kayla Boettger added five kills during the contest.
• Senior Brianna Wheeler and freshman Kendra Kline guided the Yellow Jacket with each dishing out 13 assists.
