Defiance Sweeps Twinbill at Ohio Christian

CIRCLEVILLE, OHIO -- The Defiance College volleyball team swiped a pair of straight-set victories over the Ohio Christian University Trailblazers on Saturday afternoon.

DC (3-7) took the opener in three sets, 25-18, 25-9, 25-12 over Ohio Christian (7-6).

Junior Marissa Windau (Castalia/Margaretta) led the offense with seven kills on 18 attempts with no errors. Sophomore Emma Seitz (Toledo/Central Catholic) also added six kills. Sophomore setter Madison Hollis (Burlington, Ky./Randall K. Cooper) led the way with 18 assists for DC.

Defensively, senior Jaidyn Patridge (Toledo/Springfield) had another big game with 23 digs to lead the way for the Yellow Jackets, while Hollis added nine digs to her team-leading assist total.

In the second contest, the Yellow Jackets came home with a 25-20, 25-21, 25-18 victory.

Defiance was led on the offensive side by senior Sydney Unger (Frankfort, Ind./Clinton Central) and Seitz, who finished with eight kills apiece, while Windau and Brooke Plummer (Plain City/Jonathan Alder) added six spikes. Hollis added 17 assists and 10 digs, while Patridge had another great defensive performance with 31 digs in the nightcap.
