
Yellow Jackets Knocked Out of HCAC Tournament
BLUFFTON, Ohio – The Defiance College volleyball team bowed out of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament after suffering a 3-0 (17-25, 18-25, 19-25) defeat against Bluffton.
BLUFFTON, Ohio – The Defiance College volleyball team bowed out of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament after suffering a 3-0 (17-25, 18-25, 19-25) defeat against Bluffton.
Sophomore Chelsea Ludeman paced the attack for Defiance with 12 kills on 26 attempts. She also added three blocks on the night. Senior Marlea Rolander and sophomore Alexis Pierce both had five kills. Rolander also had a team-best four blocks. Freshman Alicia Kalik provided the team with 22 assists.
Defensively, the Yellow Jackets were led by Kalik and freshman Jill Turner, who both had six digs. Senior Jessica Tietje and sophomore Christa Seidenstricker each added four digs.
With the loss, Defiance ends its season. The Yellow Jackets compiled a season record of 14-16 and 4-5 in the highly-completive HCAC. The volleyball team will return to action in the Fall of 2012.
