
Volleyball Drops Pair of Matches at Rose-Hulman
TERRA HAUTE, Ind. – The Defiance College volleyball team dropped its final two regular season matches on Saturday afternoon. The Yellow Jackets fell to Rose-Hulman, 3-0 (16-25, 17-25, 8-25), and Illinois College, 3-1 (15-25, 25-18, 17-25, 23-25).
TERRA HAUTE, Ind. – The Defiance College volleyball team dropped its final two regular season matches on Saturday afternoon. The Yellow Jackets fell to Rose-Hulman, 3-0 (16-25, 17-25, 8-25), and Illinois College, 3-1 (15-25, 25-18, 17-25, 23-25).
Against Heartland College Athletic Conference opponent Rose-Hulman, the Yellow Jackets were led on offense by senior Jessica Tietje's five kills. Freshman Alyssa Turton served up 16 assists to pace the attack. She also had a team-high six digs. Sophomore Chelsea Ludeman tallied two blocks to pace the Jackets.
In the second match, DC was led by Ludeman's 13 kills. Turton directed the offense with a career-high 39 assists. Defensively, the Yellow Jackets were paced by junior Lindsay McDaniel and sophomore Christa Siedenstricker, who ended the contest with 11 digs each. Senior Marlea Rolander added five blocks in the loss.
Defiance will return to action on Tuesday, November 2nd, when it travels to Bluffton University for the HCAC Quarterfinals. DC enters to tournament as the six-seed. Match time on Tuesday is scheduled for 7:00 pm.
