
Offensive struggles continue for the Yellow Jackets in Saturday night showdown at Lawrence Tech
SOUTHFIELD, Mich. - The Defiance College Yellow Jackets faced a 12th straight shutout against the Lawrence Tech Blue Devils at Blue Devils Stadium in a Saturday night showdown, 4-0.
Coming out strong defensively, DC (0-12, 0-6 WHAC) held Lawrence Tech to a single goal on 17 shots in the first period, courtesy of goalkeeper Madison Hert. In the second half, the game quickly changed as Lawrence Tech (4-4-3, 2-1-2 WHAC) dominated the net with three more goals to close out the match by Hinana Takashima, Lindsay Ramos and Claire Wise.
The Turning Point
The Yellow Jackets held the Blue Devils without a goal for 43 minutes of play — the longest they've held an opponent without a score this season. Once Hannah Pagett made the first shot at the 43:01-minute mark, Defiance struggled to stand a chance as the Lawrence Tech offense began dominating time of possession and field position.
