Women's Soccer Held Scoreless By Baldwin Wallace
DEFIANCE, OHIO- The Defiance College Yellow Jacket women’s soccer team was shut out by the Baldwin Wallace University Yellow Jackets with a final score of 5-0 at Winsper-Knobel Memorial Field in non-conference action.

Throughout the first half of play Defiance (1-8) defiance fought hard against the Baldwin Wallace (5-3-2) offense. Defiance was able to produce scoring possibilities, but were unable to find the back of the net. Sophomore Kassie Memmer (Bowling Green) led with shot attempts in the first half with two. Freshman Addy Cooper (Three Rivers, Mich./Three Rivers) and sophomore Katie McGlacken (Canton, Mich./Canton) each had one shot a piece. Meanwhile, BW tallied four goals in the period including what turned out to be the game winner at the 24:12 minute mark. BW went on to score goals at the 26th minute mark and during the 31st and 32nd minutes to put DC down, 4-0, at the break.
In the second half, Baldwin Wallace tacked on one more score late in the period at the 74:38 mark to extend the margin to 5-0. Memmer would take a pair of shots in the final 45 minutes, while freshman Claire Stockwell (Union, Ky./Larry A. Ryle) also took an attempt, but the DC Yellow Jackets were held scoreless as BW cruised to the 5-0 final.
In net for DC, sophomore Meredith Remy (Mansfield/Ontario) started and played the entire 90 minutes in net. She had five goals against and 15 goals saved.
Defiance will travel to Terre Haute, Ind. for a matchup against Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology next Saturday (Oct. 3) in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference opener. Game time is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. and will be part of a soccer doubleheader with the DC men's team. The men will also be taking on the Fightin' Engineers at 3 p.m.
