Last year, Defiance finished with a 2-15-2 overall record and ended the season at the bottom of Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference play with a 0-7-2 mark. The 2015 season will see the Yellow Jackets sport a balanced roster with youth and experience with eight returning players, including three seniors in goalkeeper June Delgreco (Dearborn Heights, Mich. /Crestwood), midfielder Erica Islas (Lockhart, Texas/Lockhart) and defender Jill Crowell (Kalamazoo, Mich./Plainwell).
DEFENSE
Crowell will anchor the Yellow Jackets defense as a senior following a season that saw her play in 14 games with eight starts. She ended the season with two shots on goal and was part of the defensive team that allowed just 2.37 goals per game. Concluding the 2014 season, Crowell was named to the Tom Bohlsen Academic All-HCAC team and was a NSCAA Division III Scholar All-East Region Honorable Mention honoree.
Joining Crowell in the backfield will be sophomore Katie McGlacken (Canton, Mich. /Canton). McGlacken started all 19 games she played in. She took two shots during the season, both on goal, which gave her a 1.000 on goal percentage for the season.
MIDFIELD
The midfielders will feature the most returning players led by senior Islas. Islas started in all 19 games and finished the season with two goals, two assists and six points. She was third on the team in points, tied for second in goals and assists, fifth in shots and tied for third in shots on goal.

College in Richmond, Ind.
FORWARD
Sophomore Kassie Memmer (Bowling Green) will be the lone upperclassman patrolling the front field for the 2015 season. Memmer returns after a stand-out rookie season. She started all 19 games she played in, led the team in points (nine), assists (three), and game winning goals (two). She was tied for first in goals (three) and was second on the team in shots (18).
