DC Falls 3-0 to BW

BEREA, Ohio – DC traveled to play Baldwin Wallace for the last leg of a seven game road trip.  BW would top the Yellow Jackets, 3-0.

BW's (3-5-1) high powered offense would strike early and often against DC (2-7), taking four shots on goal within the first 16 minutes.  June Delgreco (Dearborn Heights, Mich. / Crestwood) would step in the way of the first three before the fourth one found the back of the net.  DC would trail 1-0 at the 16 minute mark.

The Yellow Jackets' defense then clamped down, not allowing BW to get a shot on goal for the next twenty minutes.

Back-to-back-to-back shots from BW at the 36 minute mark would prove to be too much.  After saving the first two shots, Delgreco couldn't quite stop the third giving BW a 2-0 lead coming up to halftime.

DC nearly cut the lead in half with just 10 seconds to go in the first.  Maegan Redick (Lima, Ohio / Shawnee) put a header just left of the goal, ending the threat and half.

BW held the 2-0 edge at intermission.

Meredith Remy (Mansfield, Ohio / Ontario) would start in goal for the second half for the Yellow Jackets.  She was put to work immediately, saving a shot less than a minute into the half.

A short six minutes later, BW was able to find its third goal of the game, marking the 3-0 final score at the 51:29 mark.

DC's defense once again clamped down, not allowing a goal for nearly the final forty minutes.  Remy did her part, saving the next seven shots that came her way.

Taylor Lantz (Elkhart, Ind. / Concord) would threaten the BW defense a couple of times in the second half.  She put up two shots, one of which that was on goal.

The Yellow Jackets were not able to find net though, falling by the final score of 3-0.

DC will turn right around, coming home to host Muskingum tomorrow.  Start time is set for 2:00 pm.
