ANDERSON, Ind. – With the season winding down, the Lady Jackets traveled to Anderson to play an important Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference match up Wednesday afternoon and came away with an exciting, 1-0, victory over the Ravens. Defiance improves to a 2-3-1 record in HCAC play.
With the win, the senior class remains undefeated against the Ravens in their career, as it marked the fourth-straight win for DC over Anderson.

Freshman Paige Courtney (Cincinnati, Ohio/Anderson) scored the only goal of the match in the 24th minute. She received a pass from Karly Smith (Parma, Ohio/Parma) and found goal to put DC up 1-0.
Without Anderson putting up another shot or threat, the Lady Jackets were able to coast to the victory. "This was a big win for us to stay in the postseason hunt," Coach Van der Sluijs said after the game. "But the next game is just as important as this one. We have to be prepared for Transylvania on Saturday."
DC out shot the Ravens 21-1 during match, including 8-0 in shots on goal.
The game Saturday against Transylvania, which is also senior day for the Yellow Jackets, is slated for a 1 p.m. start time.
