Monberg started 60 matches over the course of her career, tallying 11 goals and nine assists during that time. The senior midfielder led the team with 11 points this season, recording four goals and three assists in a five-match stretch to help Defiance tally four victories in that span. "Kaitlin had a great year for us," said head coach Alden Lawrence. "She led the team in both scoring and points, despite having to deal with a lot of injuries."
Plas, a three-year captain, earned All-HCAC honors for the third consecutive season. Over the course of her career, the senior has started 68 matches from her sweeper position. The Van Wert, Ohio native helped Defiance record three shutouts in 2008, while also scoring the match-tying goal against Mount Union in the DC Classic. "Sarah is the most dedicated player I have had the privilege to coach," Lawrence said. "She anchored the team and played a vital role in stabilizing our defense."
