Boroff holds top spot after first day at Yellow Jacket Invite

WAUSEON, Ohio - Defiance College women's golf is co-hosting their Yellow Jacket Invitational at Ironwood Golf Club and finished the first day with senior Winter Boroff on top of the leaderboard.

The Lincolnview product posted her fifth-career sub-80 round by bringing a 77 into the clubhouse. She posted the team's lone birdie of the day on the ninth hole and played the back nine to just one-over par. Her lead is by one stroke over Tiffin's Alexis Zimmer.

As a team, the Jackets finished at 399 for the best round by the team during the spring season. Braylin Shaner set a new career-best with a round of 104. Emily Momany followed with a 106 and Hailey Becker finished at 112.

Defiance completes the invitational on Monday at Ironwood and the action can be streamed thanks to National Golf Network.
