Vance tops leaderboard at Adrian Invitational
TECUMSEH, Mich. - Defiance College senior golfer Isabelle Vance secured her first career win at Monday's Adrian Invitational held at Tecumseh Country Club.
Vance topped the field with an 80 on the scorecard to match the lowest round of her career, which was achieved at last fall's Manchester Invitational during the second round. Vance's previous top finish was a second-place at Anderson's Raven Invitational in April 2023, fall in a playoff to former teammate Cassady Van Dyke. Vance's medalist honors marked the third straight season in which the DC golf program has had at least one individual victory.
As a team, the Jackets placed fourth among four teams competing with a team score of 392. Winter Boroff shot 87 to finish tied for fifth, her sixth career top 5 finish. Emily Momany finished at 111 followed by a 114 from Braylin Shaner, which was her second straight round beating her previous low round. Hailey Becker also competed and closed the round with 124.
Adrian fielded two teams and their grouping of Ella Mason, Addie Karpinski, Kennedy Kehres, Abby Trepkowski, and Gillian Iles won the team crown with a combined 346.
Next up for Defiance College women's golf is a two-day tournament hosted by Heidelberg on Friday and Saturday at Fostoria Country Club.
