
Steinbrunner and Speed receive All-HCAC accolades for Women's Basketball
The Heartland Athletic Collegiate Conference has named Defiance women's basketball junior Taylor Steinbrunner and senior Nysha Speed All-HCAC Honorable Mention after their stellar play this season.
The Heartland Athletic Collegiate Conference has named Defiance women's basketball junior Taylor Steinbrunner and senior Nysha Speed All-HCAC Honorable Mention after their stellar play this season.
Steinbrunner started every game for the Yellow Jackets this season and was the leader scorer averaging a career-high 12.2 points per game. She also averaged career-bests in rebounds with 4.3 rebounds per game and assists with 1.5 assists per game. Steinbrunner scored a career-high 30 points at home against Earlham near the end of the season where she went 11-of-21 from the field and 5-of-10 from the three-point line.
Steinbrunners earns her first career All-HCAC selection.
Speed was monster in the post this season nearly averaging a double-double in her senior campaign. She averaged a career-best 11.5 points per game and recorded a career-high 8.2 rebounds per game, where she was also fourth in the conference. Speed notched seven double-doubles during the season and earned HCAC Player of the Week accolades as well.
Speed receives her first career All-HCAC selection for the Defiance women's basketball progam.
