Women's Basketball falls to Transylvania
The Defiance women's basketball team faced off against Transylvania on Saturday afternoon, suffering an 87-53 loss to a Transylvania team that is ranked No. 2 in the country in the WBCA Top 25.

- Junior Lexie Sparks paced the Yellow Jackets with eight points off the bench.
- Junior Taylor Day scored seven points as did Taylor Steinbrunner, who added four rebounds.
- Sophomore Taylor Linkous scored a career-high seven points, all coming in the fourth quarter.
- Sophomore McKenzie Cooper scored six points off the bench to go along with four assists and two steals.
- As a team, Defiance shot 17-of-50 (.340) from the floor and 5-of-20 (.250) from behind the arc.
- Madison Kellione led the Pioneers with 23 points and recorded four rebounds and four steals.
- Dasia Thornton scored 12 points for Transylvania.
- Kennedi Stacy scored 11 points, grabbed eight rebounds, dished out three assists, and recorded three steals.

The Difference
- After a very competitive first quarter, the Yellow Jackets trailed the Pioneers 14-12.
- Transylvania started to pull away in the second quarter outscoring Defiance 28-16 to take a 42-28 lead into halftime.
- The Yellow Jackets cut the lead down to 10 points before the Pioneers pulled away again and took the game 87-53.
- Transylvania outrebounded Defiance 38-23 and won the turnover battle 20-11 while scoring 27 points off turnovers.
- The Pioneers dominated the paint outscoring the Jackets 56-18.
