KISSIMMEE, Fla. - The Yellow Jackets dominated game one Friday morning against Fontbonne, winning 9-0 in five innings. Game one vs. Fontbonne
The Yellow Jackets (3-6) used some two out magic in the first inning to jump out to an early 4-0 lead. With runners on first and second with two outs, Anika Craft doubled to score Laney Grimwood. Madison Guggenbiller followed with a two-run double which scored Craft and Payton Mallett. Two batters later, Ali Mowen smacked a bases loaded RBI single through the left side for a 4-0 lead.
DC added single runs in the second and third innings. Both RBI hits came from Mallett, a single in the second and a sacrifice fly in the third.
DC put the mercy rule into effect in the fifth. Guggenbiller drew a bases loaded walk and Savannah McCoy followed with a two-run single.
Riley Alcorn had a no hitter going through the first 4.1 innings until a bloop single over Ali Mowen's head ended the no-hit bid.
Alcorn got the win on the mound, her first of the season. Laney Grimwood and Brooke Silcox each had three hits and Guggenbiller drove in three runs. Craft, McCoy, and Mowen had two hits.
Game two vs. North Central

The two teams then traded single runs in the fourth. Payton Mallett scored on a single up the middle by Savannah McCoy for DC's only run of the game.
Ali Mowen reached base to start the seventh on a hit by pitch. Any potential rally was shut down though as Savanah Bergman, Laney Grimwood, and Brooke Silcox were retired in order to end the game.
Anna Emswiler got the starting nod behind the plate while Bergman, Grimwood, Mallett, and McCoy had one hit each in the game.
