Marshall leads men’s track & field to 6th-place finish at HCAC Outdoor Championship
After a slow start on day one of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championship on Friday, the Defiance College men’s track team had an impressive outing on Saturday, winning two events and finishing 6th out of 10 teams with 54 points. Tawon Cannon and Robert Marshall each claimed event titles.

Track & Field sprints past competition at Concordia Legacy Meet
The Defiance College men’s and women’s track and field teams traveled north to Ann Arbor, Mich. on Saturday to compete in the Legacy Meet hosted by Concordia University Ann Arbor. The Yellow Jackets won two events on the day with Lisa Markau placing first in the women’s 100-meters and the men’s 4x100 relay team winning their race.

Marshall named HCAC Track Athlete of the Week
Defiance College freshman sprinter Robert Marshall has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men’s Track Athlete of the Week following his blazing fast performance at Brescia University’s Blue & Gold Twilight meet last Friday evening.

The Defiance College men's track & field team placed fourth out of five teams thanks in large part to sprinter Robert Marshall who placed first in both the 100 and 200 meters. His times in both events are the fastest in the HCAC so far this season.

Track & Field competes at Kentucky Wesleyan Twilight Invitational
The Defiance College track & field teams traveled to Owensboro, Ky. on Friday to compete in the Kentucky Wesleyan Twilight Invitational. Joshua Gaffney placed first in the men’s 400 meters with a time of 52.60 seconds.

Men picked fifth, women ninth in HCAC outdoor track poll
The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference announced the results of its preseason coaches poll for the 2021 outdoor track and field season on Wednesday morning. The Defiance College men’s team was chosen to finished fifth in the conference while the women were picked to finish ninth.

Defiance College 2021 outdoor track season preview
On Saturday the Defiance College men’s and women’s track and field program will begin the 2020-21 outdoor season at the Cedarville Yellowjacket Collegiate Open. This season will be the first outdoor season for Defiance head coach Nathan Christianson, who was hired during the 2019-20 indoor season.

Melvin wins 60m, Men's Track finishes third at HCAC Championship
Despite being picked last in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference preseason coaches polls, the Defiance College men's track and field team placed third at the HCAC Championship in Terre Haute, Ind. on Sunday afternoon with a total of 66 points. This is the team's highest finish since 2015 when they placed fourth. Gabriel Melvin won the 60-meters with a time of 6.98 seconds followed closely by teammate Ja'qway Janvier who placed second with a time of 7.02 seconds. Robert Marshall finished second in the 200-meters with a time of 23.07 seconds, a personal best, while Janvier returned to the podium with a third-place finish in the event.

Hip Hip Ja'qway! Defiance College sprinter Ja'qway Janvier (Miami Gardens, Fla./Mater Academy Charter) has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's Track Athlete of the Week following his dominant performance at the John Hartpence Invitational last Friday evening.

Janvier leads Yellow Jackets at John Hartpence Invitational
DEFIANCE, Ohio - Three first-place finishes from Ja'qway Janvier set the tone for an impressive outing by the Defiance College track and field teams at the John Hartpence Invitational on Friday evening. Janvier ran the third-fastest time in school history in the 60-meters, clocking in at 6.96 seconds in the finals to win the event. He followed up this record performance by win the 200-meters with a time of 23.48 seconds and also placing first in the long jump with a distance of 5.93m.
