
Men's Basketball falls short in offensive shootout with Hanover
The Hanover Panthers came into the Weaner Center Saturday afternoon and knocked down 16 three-pointers to defeat the Yellow Jackets, 95-82.

Marell Jordan led Defiance in scoring with 24 points.

Te Jones finished with 21 points and six rebounds.

Landen Swanner added 17 points.

Jakob Trevino scored six points off the bench.

Five of Hanover's eight players scored in double figures.

Brice Gilman had a double-double with 13 points and 11 assists and Max Greenamoyer knocked down six three-pointers.

Hanover shot 55 percent from the field in the game and Defiance shot 57.4 percent.

Hanover had a +30 advantage from downtown as the Panthers hit 10 more than the Yellow Jackets, 16-6.
First Half:

The teams combined to miss their first seven shots. That finally came to an end when Te Jones drained a three to get the Yellow Jackets on the board first.

Marell Jordan threw down a thunderous dunk to tie the game at 11 off an assist from Jones with 14:17 remaining.

After that dunk, Hanover went on an 8-2 run. Brice Gilman hit two from downtown and Matt Munoz converted a layup. The two points from Defiance came from a Te Jones jump shot.

That little run from the Panthers would allow them to lead for the remainder of the half.

Jakob Trevino knocked down a three to bring Defiance back within three.

Hanover's biggest lead in the half was eight and that came at the first half buzzer as Max Greenamoyer drained a three off an assist from Brice Gilman.

Hanover led 45-37 at halftime.
Second Half:

Defiance came out of halftime strong, going on a little 5-0 run to get back within three. Landon Swanner had a layup and Cole Wojciechowski converted a three-point play.

That was as close as Defiance would get in the second half as Hanover slowly grew their lead with a barrage of three-pointers.

Defiance trailed 65-61 after a layup from Landen Swanner with 12:05 remaining.

After that layup, Hanover went on a 12-2 run to turn their four-point lead into a 14-point lead. The lone Defiance basket in the run was a Cam Martin layup and Hanover's Matt Munoz capped off the run with a layup.

That run propelled Hanover to victory as the Hanovers led by as many as 16.
