Franklin cruises to 67-40 win over Yellow Jackets

The Defiance men's basketball team struggled offensively Saturday afternoon and was defeated by Franklin, 67-40.

The Basics:

• Records: Defiance (5-12, 0-10) Franklin (11-6, 7-3)

• Location: Spurlock Center - Franklin, Indiana

Inside The Numbers:

• Marell Jordan was the only double-digit scorer for the Yellow Jackets, finishing with 11 points.

• Cole Wojciechowski and Landen Swanner each scored seven points.

• Ried Jury and Swanner each grabbed four rebounds. 

• Defiance shot 27.9 percent from the floor for the game.

• Franklin scored 42 of their 67 points in the paint. 

• Trey Flatt led Franklin with 16 points. 

First Half:

• The two teams traded baskets for the first six minutes of the game. Marell Jordan, Cole Wojciechowski, Landen Swanner, and Te Jones had the early baskets for the Yellow Jackets.

• Jack Hendricks hit a jump shot to give Franklin a 21-11 lead with 6:21 left.

• Clay McCorkle answered with a three to cut the deficit to seven.

• Franklin closed the half with a mini 9-4 run and led 30-19 at the break.

Second Half:

• Franklin continued to seize control and the Defiance offense still struggled as the Grizzlies had a second half advantage of 37-21 and cruised to victory.
