Wolfrum joined Manchester's Jordan Moss and Hanover's Mike Case as the three Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference student-athletes to receive the honor and was the only sophomore to make the list. The award marked the fourth-straight year that a Yellow Jacket was named all-region, after Anthony Pettaway was honored in 2008 and 2009 and Nick Sales netted a pair of all-region nods in 2010.
The Defiance, Ohio native and First-Team All-HCAC performer ended his second collegiate season ranked 18th in the nation with 21.6 points per game and 33rd with 5.3 assists per night to become one of only four players in NCAA Division III to rank top-20 in scoring and top-35 in helpers during the 2010-2011 campaign. Wolfrum led all NCAA Division III freshmen and sophomores in scoring, after leading DC in 17-of-25 games and pouring in 20-or-more points a total of 12 times.
Wolfrum did more than just fill the nets however, leading the HCAC in scoring and assists, while also ranking second in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.8), second in minutes played (36.1) and seventh in defensive rebounds (4.5). The dynamic point guard also led the Jackets in assists in all but one game this season.
The impressive stat totals led to Wolfrum being named as the HCAC Player of the Week four times during the 2010-2011 campaign, while earning a pair of nods onto the D3hoops.com National Team of the Week.
Wolfrum's 2010-2011 season will go down as one of the finest by any DC student-athlete on the planks since the program made the transition from NCAA Division III prior to the 1991-1992 campaign, as he became the first player in Defiance College's D-III era to post 500 points, 100 rebounds and 100 assists in a single season.
