
DC's Wolfrum Nets Third HCAC Weekly Honor of the Season

Wolfrum connected on 62.5 percent of his attempts from the field in the two games and sank 83.3 percent of his free throws, while averaging 20.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 1.0 steals per showing. Wolfrum logged his sixth 20-point game of the season in a 78-68 win over TU on Wednesday, before notching a double-double and setting a new career high with 10 rebounds in a 92-72 rout of MSJ on Saturday.
Wolfrum opened the week by putting up 28 points and five assists to lead the Jackets to the 10-point victory against Transy. DC never trailed and its 78 points were the most allowed by the Pioneers in 12 games to open the 2010-2011 campaign.
Defiance led from the opening tip once again on Saturday, as Wolfrum spurred a 92-72 victory with 13 points, 10 rebounds and five more helpers. The 10 rebounds set a new career high for Wolfrum, who also logged his second collegiate double-double.
Wolfrum leads Defiance and the HCAC with 21.9 points and 6.0 assists per game and was the only player in NCAA Division III to rank top-15 in the nation in both statistics in the latest national report.
Wolfrum and the Jackets (8-5, 3-3 HCAC) will try to continue their ascent up the conference standings when they play at Earlham (2-11, 0-6 HCAC) on January 12 at 7:30 pm and at Franklin (4-9, 2-4 HCAC) on January 15 at 4:00 pm.
