Cross country returns to action at All-Ohio Championship
The Defiance cross country teams competed at the All-Ohio Championships hosted by Cedarville University on Friday evening.

The Course
- The meet was held at Cedarville's Elvin R. King Cross Country Course.
- Both the Defiance squads placed 28th in their respective races.
- Miami Ohio won the women's 6k and the men's 8k.
The Women's Race
- Freshman Alexandria Ausmus was the top finisher for the Yellow Jackets placing 178th overall with a time of 28:15.3. Her time was 64th among NCAA Division III runners at the event.
- Senior Katelyn Smith placed 195th overall with a time of 29:48.0. Smith finished 73rd in the DIII standings at the event.
- Freshman Traci Cross placed 218th overall and 92nd in DIII with a time of 34:53.2.
- Freshman Ashanti Elkins placed 225th overall and 95th in DIII with a time of 39:15.0
- Sophomore Destiny Oshodin placed 229th overall and 98th in DIII with a time of 43:32.8.
- Beth Arentz from Akron placed first overall with a time of 21:31.1.
- Otterbein's Sydney Smith was the top DIII finisher with a time of 22:54.8 good for 19th overall.
The Men's Race
- Sophomore John Reese placed 208th overall and 82nd among DIII runners with a time of 31:57.8.
- Freshmen Payton Switzer (48:19.7), Juan Perez (48:45.5), and Jalen Corbin (48:47.5) finished 236th, 237th, and 238th respectively.
- Freshman Lane Westerfeld placed 241st with a time of 49:52.2.
- Alex Phillip from John Carroll won the race with a time of 24:52.1.
