Textor Leads DC at Wilmington
DEFIANCE, OHIO -- The Defiance College women's cross country team finished in the 38th position with 1116 points at the #JennaStrong Fall Classic at Wilmington College in Wilmington, Ohio.
DEFIANCE, OHIO -- The Defiance College women's cross country team finished in the 38th position with 1116 points at the #JennaStrong Fall Classic at Wilmington College in Wilmington, Ohio.
The meet, which was filled with Division I and II schools, was won by Wright State University, and followed by Shawnee Stte, Cleveland State, Findlay, and Miami (Ohio). The top ranked Division III school was Heidelberg University, who placed seventh.
Defiance was led by junior Aaron Textor (Swanton), who finished 149th in the field of 364 runners, running the five-kilometer race in a time of 21:04.2.
Junior Brooke Waidelich (Pettisville) was the second runner across for DC, placing 343rd with a time of 28:07. Juniors Laura Lutzke (Williamston, Mich.) and Hannah Williams finished in 359th and 360th, respectively with a time of 35:27 and 35:37, while Cassidy Santen (Woodridge, Ill./Downers Grove North) wrapped up the swarm of Yellow Jackets with a time of 39:07.6
The Yellow Jackets will compete at the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference championship meet on Saturday, Oct. 29. The race will be hosted by Hanover (Ind.) College and the women's six-kilometer race will begin at 1 p.m.
