DC Women Compete at Otterbein
WESTERVILLE, OHIO -- The Defiance College women's cross country team ran at the Otterbein University Invitational in Westerville, Ohio and placed 19th overall.
WESTERVILLE, OHIO -- The Defiance College women's cross country team ran at the Otterbein University Invitational in Westerville, Ohio and placed 19th overall.
The Yellow Jackets finished with a team score of 553 points to place 19th of 19 teams. Host school Otterbein, captured the team title with a total of 46 points. Kenyon College was second at 72 points and the University of Findlay was third with 119 points.
Individually, DC was paced by a 91st place finish from junior Aaron Textor (Swanton) who ran a 6K time of 26:59.8.
Following Textor across the line was junior Brooke Waidelich (Pettisville) who finished in the 210th position with a time of 36:16.9.
The field for the Yellow Jackets was rounded out by juniors Laura Lutzke (Williamston, Mich.), Hannah Williams (Swanton) and Cassidy Santen (Woodridge, Ill./Downers Grove North) who finished 217th, 218th, and 219th respectively.
Defiance will return to action at the All-Ohio Championships hosted by Cedarville University on Friday, Sept. 30 in Cedarville, Ohio. The race is set to begin at 2 pm.
