Stryffeler, DeBos Claim First at Manchester Hokem Karem
NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. – The Defiance College women’s cross country team opened its season with a solid showing at the Manchester College Hokem Karem. Senior Ellen Stryffeler and junior Erika DeBos combined for a two-runner time of 39:31.00 to take first place overall.
NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. – The Defiance College women's cross country team opened its season with a solid showing at the Manchester College Hokem Karem. Senior Ellen Stryffeler and junior Erika DeBos combined for a two-runner time of 39:31.00 to take first place overall.
While Stryffeler and DeBos set the pace, the Yellow Jackets received solid showings from the team of sophomores Kate Busto and Ericha Griep and the team of freshman Brianna Rodriguez and sophomore Samantha Davis. Busto and Griep finished the event in seventh place with a time of 42:18.00. The team of Rodriguez and Davis finished 11th overall with a time of 48:57.00.
Manchester College won the event with a total team time of 2:02:10.00 and nine points. The Yellow Jackets finished with a total of 2:10:46.00 and 12 points.
The next event for the DC harriers is on September 10 when they host the Defiance Duals. Start time is scheduled for 10:00 a.m..
