Tomoletz and Wellman tabbed All-Conference Volleyball Second Team

DEFIANCE, Ohio - The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference announced the Volleyball All-Conference and marquee awards on Tuesday with a pair of Defiance Yellow Jackets earning Second Team honors. Recognition was decided by a vote of HCAC coaches.

Defiance is represented in the league's awards by sophomore Kaylynn Wellman (Defiance, Ohio) and freshman Jaelyn Tomoletz (Perry, Ohio), both earning All-Conference Second Team.

Wellman played in every set played this season and led the Yellow Jackets with 151 kills, averaging just below two per set this year (1.89). 

Tomoletz was one of the team's most efficient hitters, converting better than 24 percent of her attacks and her 112 kills were third-best on the club. She also blocked 60 total attacks on defense with 38 solo blocks. Her solo blocks total was the most by any player in the HCAC in 2022.

Newcomer of the Year – Isabella Myers, Transylvania University
