Porter named All-Conference honorable mention
CARMEL, Ind. - The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) announced the Spring 2021 Volleyball All-Conference teams and award winners on Monday afternoon. Senior outside hitter and defensive specialist Morgan Porter (Defiance, Ohio/ Defiance) earned All-HCAC Honorable Mention accolades for her efforts during the season.

Yellow Jackets fall short in road games at Mount St. Joseph
CINCINNATI, Ohio- On Saturday afternoon, the Yellow Jacket women’s volleyball team traveled to Mount St. Joseph University. In the first match, counting toward Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference standings, Defiance fell in straight sets by a score of 3-0 (19-25, 19-25, 15-25). The second non-conference match went to Mount St. Joseph by a score of 3-1 (13-25, 20-25, 25-22, 21-25).

Volleyball topped by Transylvania on the road
LEXINGTON, Ky.- The Defiance College volleyball team traveled to Transylvania University for a doubleheader. The first match counted toward the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference standings, and despite an opening set win, Defiance dropped the match 3-1 (25-22, 16-25, 16-25, 15-25). In the second non-conference match, the Yellow Jackets lost in straight sets 3-0 (16-25, 15-25, 21-25).

Volleyball earns a split at Anderson
ANDERSON, Ind- The Defiance College volleyball team headed to Anderson, Indiana, for two matches against the Ravens. In the first match, counting toward the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference standings, the Yellow Jackets came up victorious by a score of 3-2 (20-25,25-16, 25-19,19-25, 15-13). Defiance earned a split on the evening as they fell short in the second non-conference match, where the Ravens' won 3-0 (14-25, 20-25,15-25).

RICHMOND, Ind. - The Defiance College volleyball team traveled to Earlham College on Wednesday night to take on the Quakers in a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference doubleheader. Defiance dropped a thrilling first match, which counts in the HCAC standings, by the score of 3-2 (19-25, 25-18, 25-17, 12-25, 8-15 ) before the Yellow Jackets fell short in the second non-conference contest losing 3-0 (20-25, 9-25, 18-25 ).

DEFIANCE, Ohio – Inside the Karl H. Weaner Community Center on Saturday afternoon, the Defiance College volleyball team beat the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology Fightin’ Engineers in a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference match, 3-0 (25-15, 25-21, 25-23).

Volleyball begins home slate by defeating Manchester twice
DEFIANCE, Ohio – On Wednesday night, the Defiance College volleyball team began the home portion of its 2020-21 schedule by defeating the Manchester University Spartans twice inside the Karl H. Weaner Community Center. Defiance won the first match, which counts in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference standings, by the score of 3-1 (25-19, 25-18, 20-25, 25-19) before another 3-1 (25-13, 23-25, 25-11, 25-19) victory in the second non-conference contest.

Volleyball loses hard-fought battles at Hanover in the season opener
HANOVER, Ind.- The Defiance College volleyball program opened the 2020-21 season with two matches at Hanover College. Despite a competitive conference matchup, the Yellow Jackets lost the opening match 3-0 in straight sets (25-18, 26-24, 25-20). Defiance kept up the fight in game two but could not overcome the Panthers (25-21, 26-24, 25-16).

Defiance College 2020-21 volleyball season preview
DEFIANCE, Ohio - The Defiance College women's volleyball team heads into the upcoming 2020-21 season returning key players, including ten upperclassmen from last year joined by six freshmen. Entering her ninth campaign as head coach at Defiance, Brie Brenner is looking for her Yellow Jackets to improve their records from last season, finishing 17-12 overall and 5-4 in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference play, including a trip to the conference tournament.

CARMEL, Ind. - The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference volleyball coaches' preseason poll, released Thursday morning, found the Defiance College program ranked seventh.

No spectators allowed at athletic events until at least mid-February
DEFIANCE, Ohio – Due to rising health concerns related to the spread of the coronavirus, the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Council of Presidents and Defiance College have decided to not allow spectators at any athletic events until at least Feb. 15, 2021. The HCAC, which Defiance has been a member of since 2000, will reevaluate this policy next month.
