Porter Named to HCAC All-Tournament Team
BLUFFTON, Ohio – Sara Porter averaged 13.5 kills, 9.5 digs, 3.0 assists and 1.5 total blocks per match during Defiance College’s run to the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament Semifinals and has been selected to the seven-athlete HCAC All-Tournament Team.
BLUFFTON, Ohio – Sara Porter averaged 13.5 kills, 9.5 digs, 3.0 assists and 1.5 total blocks per match during Defiance College's run to the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament Semifinals and has been selected to the seven-athlete HCAC All-Tournament Team.
Porter turned in her fourth double-double match of the season in DC' opening round victory against the No. 5 seeded Rose-Hulman Engineers on Saturday morning. The junior outside hitter logged 16.5 points in the 25-20, 25-23, 20-25, 22-25, 15-11 victory by logging 15 kills, 12 digs, four assists and three blocks.
The Toledo, Ohio, native then slammed 12 kills and added seven digs and a pair of assists in the Jackets' four-set loss to the top-seeded Bluffton squad on Saturday evening. Porter helped seal DC's third-set victory by earning the match point with a kill.
Porter was joined on the All-HCAC Tournament Team by Bluffton's Jenna Eshleman, Shauna Rowland and Nicole Wood, MSJ's Jamie Grauvogel and Jess Gadberry and Anderson's Stephanie Weinman.
