DC Tops Marygrove in 'Dig Pink' Match
DEFIANCE, Ohio – Defiance College had little trouble racking up its fourth-straight win and its 17th victory of the 2009 campaign on Saturday, as it rolled past Marygrove in straight sets on Saturday during DC’s ‘Dig Pink’ rally.

The Yellow Jackets earned their fourth 3-0 win in the last four matches via a 25-15, 25-9, 25-9 victory over the Mustangs. DC's offense improved with each set and ended with 31 kills in just 80 swings for a .287 clip. Marygrove struggled to find a rhythm and had just 10 kills to go with 22 errors.
Jessica Tietje paced the attack for Defiance with seven kills in 12 attempts, while picking up four of the team's 10 service aces on the day. Michelle Sikora swatted seven kills in nine swings and Marlea Rolander chipped in five kills to go with five blocks.
The Defiance setters also played well, as Julie Brunsman tossed up 17 assists and added a pair of aces, while Kelsey Ferguson had 12 assists and three aces.
DC (17-9, 2-3 HCAC) will try to extend its current win streak to five when it plays at Manchester (5-17, 0-4 HCAC) on Wednesday at 7:00 pm.
