DC Places 13 on HCAC's All-Academic Team
GREENWOOD, Ind. – The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference announced its fall honorees for Academic All-HCAC. Student-athletes must own a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 and be varsity athletes during the fall semester to make the list.
GREENWOOD, Ind. – The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference announced its fall honorees for Academic All-HCAC. Student-athletes must own a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 and be varsity athletes during the fall semester to make the list.
The HCAC uses the student-athlete's GPA at the end of the semester preceding the end of the fall season. The student-athlete must have completed the equivalent of a full academic year and be enrolled full time at the institution to be eligible for the Academic All-Conference honor.
Defiance placed 13 student-athletes on the list for the fall semester, tying with Bluffton for the fourth-best total in the conference. The Jackets led the HCAC with five volleyball All-Academic selections, while adding five football, two soccer and one women's tennis award.
DC's list of standout student-athletes included Heather Bradshaw, Julie Brunsman, Kelsey Ferguson, Ashton Judis, Nicole Williams, Joel Billings, Lewis Caralla, Matt King, Ricky Sherrer, Mike Szuma, Matthew Johnson, Sarah Plas and Cindy Toth.
