Jackets Drop Pair of Matches in Friday Night Action

DC started strong in the opening set against Wooster, winning by a 25-19 margin. Wooster battled back however, and took the next three sets 25-22, 25-19, 25-22 to win the match.
Kristen Nicely led Defiance with 16 kills and four blocks, while Marlea Rolander and Danyel Lipps each registered eight kills. Rolander led the offense with a sparkling .318 hitting percentage.
The nightcap saw DC fall, 25-13, in the opening set to the host Hiram squad before rallying to win the second set 25-23. The Jackets would then lose a pair of nail biters, 25-23 and 25-22, to drop the match.
Nicely repeated as the lone Yellow Jacket to record double-digit kills, while Heather Bradshaw anchored the defense with 20 digs. Lauren Aldridge also played well at the net and ended with five kills and a team-high four blocks.
Defiance (8-7) will host Ohio Northern on Tuesday at 7:00 pm inside of the Karl H. Weaner Community Center. The Jackets will bring a 3-1 home record to the action, while the No. 13 ONU squad counters with a 9-4 overall mark.
