Cross leads track & field at Mike Becraft Invite

The Basics
- The event was hosted by Ohio Northern University at Kerscher Stadium in Ada, Ohio.
- The Findlay and Albion tied for first in the women's completion with 161.5 points each.
- The Yellow Jacket women placed 10th with 16 points.
- The men's event was won by the hosts Ohio Northern with 203 points.
- The Defiance men finished 10th with 17 points.
Notable Performances
- Cross dominated the 100-meters with the fastest time in the prelims with a blazing 12.31 seconds and then placed second in the finals with a time of 12.32 seconds.
- Cross also placed second in the 200-meters with a time of 25.79 seconds.
- Sophomore Tawon Cannon finished second in the 400-meters with a time of 49.63 seconds.
- Junior Ja'Qway Janvier placed third in the 100-meters with a time of 10.87 seconds in the finals after running a 10.91 in the prelims. Janvier earned second-place points in the event as the winner was competing unattached.
- The 4x100 relay team of Deuntray Drennon, Gavin Maratea, Janvier, and Cannon placed eighth with a season-best time of 43.41 seconds.
- Senior Lisa Markau placed 10th in the 100-meters with a time of 12.91 seconds. Markau also placed 12th in the long jump with a mark of 4.12m.
- Sophomore John Reese placed 12th in the 800-meters with a time of 2:03.58 and 14th in the 1500-meters with a time of 4:20.74. Both are new personal records for Reese.
- Sophomore Ron Scott finished 14th in the shot put with a best throw of 11.53m.
- Junior Brianna Snider set a new personal best in the javelin with a throw of 21.37m and placed 16th.
