ADA, Ohio – Striving for a spot in the NCAA Division III Nationals, Madi Bowman (Eaton/Eaton) traveled to Ohio Northern for the Polar Bear Final Qualifier on Saturday afternoon as the lone representative of Defiance College track and field.
"It has been a great year for Madi," said Head Coach Nathan Christianson. "I am really proud of her and what she's done for this program."
Entering the event, Bowman sat just outside the qualifying window with her season's best throw of 16.85m. At the conclusion of action on Saturday, she was unable to better this mark, finishing with a 15.57m performance.
Currently, Bowman lands 24th in the nation, remaining right outside of qualification. Student-athletes with a top-20 mark in the weight throw will secure a spot in the Nationals, set to take place in North Carolina March 13-14.
The official list of Nationals qualifiers will be announced Sunday, March 8.
