Yellow Jacket Women Wrap-Up HCAC Championships
NORTH MANCHESTER, IND. -- Select members of the Defiance College women's track & field team traveled to North Manchester, Ind. and Manchester (Ind.) University to complete the final two events of the 2017 Outdoor Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships that were postponed last week due to poor weather.

University to complete the final two events of the 2017 Outdoor Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships that were postponed last week due to poor weather.
The final two events remaining to complete were the 10,000-meter run and the javelin. The Yellow Jackets only had competitors in the javelin event and placed two individuals in the top-10.
Senior Colby Heeter (Bloomsburg, Pa./Bloomsburg) led the way with a seventh-place finish and a distance of 97' 11.00." Finishing right behind was junior teammate Cassidy Santen (Woodridge, Ill./Downers Grove North) taking eighth place. Santen had a best throw of 97' 8.00". In addition, junior Brooke Waidelich (Pettisville) placed 11th with a best throw of 95' 3.00".
As a team, Defiance finished eighth of 10 teams with 32 total points. Manchester and Hanover (Ind.) College tied for first with 174 points. Rose-Hulman (Ind.) Institute of Technology rounded out the top three with 135 points.
Defiance is next scheduled to compete in the North (Ill.) Central College Gregory Invitational on Saturday, May 13. The meet is scheduled to begin at 11:45 a.m. in Naperville, Ill.
